The mission of the Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) Programs is to maximize the physical, emotional and social development of the fleet, fighter and family. FFR enables a ready Navy force through its Fleet Readiness, Family Readiness, and Housing Programs. We provide direct and support services to all non-appropriated fund (NAF) employees who work for Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR), Navy Gateway Inns & Suites (NGIS), and Navy Getaways throughout the Fleet and Family Readiness Program worldwide.
The purpose of this position is to provide program oversight and direction relating to the Navy Recreation Lodging Program. Recreational lodging activities are established as professionally managed, business-based, lodging programs to provide recreational lodging services to all authorized personnel in support of personal readiness, mission accomplishment and improved productivity.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The position oversees the accomplishment of Navy Recreation Lodging which impacts on the management of inventory at 50 locations Navy-wide to include: recreation areas, hotel-like facilities, cabins, cottages, recreational vehicle (RV) parks, and campgrounds. In addition, directs several recreation programs to include: a reservation program which provides information and assistance to personnel locating accommodations; training for management and operations functions; a furnishings program which includes purchase, replacement, inventory control, procurement strategies, marketing and a customer service program.
Provides continuity, cohesion, and stability in planning, developing, and executing the Recreation Lodging Program. Decisions made by this position affect execution of the Recreation Lodging Program and significantly influence the future direction of the program. Develops strategic plans and policies, establishes program goals and objectives and advises higher authorities of the impact of the Recreation Lodging Program on the overall Navy/Marine mission. Identifies new developments or issues which require innovative actions and makes or recommends command decisions on directed operations; directs basic organization and management planning for prospective changes in functions or programs; establishes production goals or program priorities and evaluates progress and results; and coordinates the work of the team with other organizations.
Develop and issue operating policy, technical guidance, procedures, and standards for the operation of Recreation Lodging. Assists in directing the management and operation of the Recreation Lodging Program resources and programs. Provides centralized direction and guidance for the management of the Recreation Lodging Program including management of resources, training, policy guidance, quality assurance and ADP systems.
The position is involved in the development, implementation, and evaluation of recreation lodging operations and management policies and procedures. Assists in directing special studies and determines suitability for implementation; conducts program reviews and evaluations; the
implementation of program initiatives; and assists in establishing and directing implementation and evaluation of broad program objectives and goals.

Must demonstrate an extensive knowledge of a wide range of Recreation/Hospitality Industry Standards, Federal and Navy policies, concepts, statutes, procedures, and regulations relative to the Navy Lodging Program.
A comprehensive background with recreation policies and principles, as well as knowledge of Federal, State, Local laws is necessary to provide interpretation, guidance, and policy change recommendations for the efficient execution of the recreation lodging program.
Must have a minimum of 3 years Management experience in recreation/hospitality.
